Review

The sequel relocates the elite assassin from the cold and dark streets of the UK to the seaside sights of Malta. Starting with a familiar setup – making his targets' deaths appear an accident – he teams up with a bumbling old friend to pull off some of the hits. There is some terrible CGI in this sequence, but it doesn't affect the cheesy nature too much. The contraption testing montage and "keeping in shape" training exercises were fun additions.

Forced to protect a mafia boss' ungrateful son, the movie again follows the same beats as the original; fighting other elite assassins one by one, this time they're after him instead of the other way round. Again, the fight sequences are impressive and the sequel leans into the absurdness with a little more comedy. The clown sequence is the most exciting, although it does suffer from cutting between two fights that hinder the flow a little and fatigues after a while.

Overall, this is exactly like the first; a fun action movie, with decent fight scenes and a funny range of characters. I'd watch a third movie.
