Based On An Absurd But True Story
Ethan Hawke plays an excentric bank robber in a movie based on a true story from the 1970s. He builds a rapport with Noomi Rapace's hostage character and befriends other captors with his loveable demeanour. The costumes and characters are larger-than-life and the movie is easy to watch. There are some funny moments and a decent amount of tension. It feels like a modern version of Dog Day Afternoon.
