I have watched this movie once. This was on .

A look at the New York City punk-rock scene and the venerable nightclub, CBGB.

50,000 bands and 1 disgusting bathroom.

The movie focuses the origins of the infamous New York punk club CBGBs. It mostly focuses on the extremely laid back owner, but it is mixed with a few other side stories. These side stories – especially the magazine story – don’t really add anything to the movie. The aesthetics of storyboarding are used as a visual device, reflecting the zine style, actually detract from the enjoyment of the movie. There is some stellar music from the era and it was interesting to see the antics which were tolerated. It’s worth a watch if you like music and want to understand some of the history regarding influential ’70/‘80s music scene.
