Multipack Presents… Hack The Planet

Continuing the successful Multipack Presents events which started last year, the Multipack are holding a "Hack Day" in association with a new grassroots initiative called a.green:focus.

a.green:focus originated back in April 2009 when Paul Lloyd presented his idea at the Presents event Being Green. You can read more about the initiative over at the a.green:focus blog.

The Multipack Presents… Hack The Planet event aims to kick-start the a.green:focus initiative by holidng a hack day. This involves individuals coming together, sharing their thoughts and ideas, and building a website or application during the day. The event welcomes anyone to attend - whether you can code or not.

The aim of the event is to build a website or app that encourages Web people like us to think about how we can reduce the size of our carbon footprint, both in the office and on the road.

You can sign up to the event on Upcoming or over on Facebook and remember to follow the a.green:focus blog.

The event takes place on Saturday 20th of February, starting at 10am. The event is planned to go on all day, with the possibility of coming back for more on the Sunday. The hack day is taking place at One Black Bear's offices, at Fazeley Studios, in Birmingham. The event is sponsored by the folks over at Campaign Monitor who will help those who attend fueled up and ready to code!

If you can't attend the event but are interested in the goings on, you can follow both a.green:focus and Multipack on Twitter!
