Geek in the Park 2008

Hopefully you’ve already heard about this little event I’m running called Geek in the Park which is taking place next month (August) in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK. Taking the place of the normal Multipack meeting of the second Saturday of the month, Geek in the Park returns after a years absence.

Weather permitting the event will start at midday in the beautifully picturesque Jephson Gardens. Join us in bringing a picnic lunch, and enjoy a good chat with fellow web developers and designers. In 2006 there was an impromptu kick-around so feel free to bring your own outdoor games, such as frisbees and the like.

After the picnic, at 7pm, everyone should migrate up through the Georgian-style town to the upstairs room at KoKo's. There you'll be treated to two well known web standards people who will present some talks.

Jon Hicks will present "Pixel Pushing: An Introduction to Icon Design" and Drew McLellan will talk about "What Brian Cant Never Taught You About Metadata".

If you're interested please add yourself to the Geek in the Park newsletter, and you will receive a pleasant reminder of the event nearer the time. You can also add yourself to the both Upcoming and Facebook event pages!
