I've been envious of the Web Essentials conference that was in Sydney from the 30th of September to the 1st of October last year ever since I found out about it in the summer. Obviously it was out of my reach being at university and all the way around the world, but it had some top-notch names there. Well I've found out about another conference which is a little closer to home, London.
It's the web design event of the year. The @media 2005 conference brings together the biggest names from around the world to talk about the hottest topics in web design - web standards and accessibility.
@Media 2005 is a "Web Standards & Accessibility" conference, so it'll be right up my street. International speakers include Jeffery Zeldman who'll be presenting the keynote speech and Joe Clark who will be talking about accessibility. I have a book by both of these guys and they're really good. Douglas Bowman of Blogger redesign fame will also be inattendance. Finally, there are a lot of UK developers including Andy Budd and Andy Clarke.
The whole conference runs between the 9th and 10th of June in London. All in all should be pretty damn ace. But, I haven't got the £345 to get a ticket. I'll have to thing of some way to go! I think this might be where my holiday fund will go.
