As of MSN Messenger version 7 and above, there has been native support to show what song you’re playing in Windows Media Player next to your nick. I say native support as there has been plugins which have done this in the past.
This is great if your default music player is Windows Media Player. However, I have been using Winamp for too long now. It’s simple, effect. Perfect for what I need. After a quick Google I found exactly what I needed.
MSN Messenger Now Playing Plugin does exactly what it says on the tin (so to speak). Download the little plugin for Winamp, set the MSN to show what’s “Currently playing” and you’re away.
What happens if you want this facility, but use Apple iTunes? Well, as I don’t use it for playing music (although I have a iPod mini) I didn’t know whether it work, or whether there was a solution for it. Well, it turns out iTunes with MSN “Currently playing” simply works! Nice to know at least.

Yup, iTunes worked natively for me when I started using the “What I’m listening to” MSN7 extra.
