I’m IE Vexed

Why do people continue to use Microsoft Internet Explorer as their default number one choice browser. Is it because it because it’s the best browser available? Alas not by a long way.

It seems that many internet surfers are ignorant to software other than the corporate, commericalized software that is literally thrown in their face. This, coupled with the attitude — “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” — leads to mayhem and annoyance.

If people would do a little research behind their choice, often which is their only communication with the internet community, then they’ll realise that Internet Explorer is broken and needs fixing quickly.

You only have to read a few online news sites relating to the web and you’ll find that they are full of complaints and security issues relating to IE. Have a thorough read of these articles, which only represent a handfull of the IE horror facts, Security Firm Warns Of New IE Flaw, Pop-up Toolbar Spreads Via IE Flaws Researchers Warn Of Infectious Web Sites & finally IE Flaw May Boost Rival Browsers, then carry on with this article.

So, you’ve decided to change away from Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. Good idea. Here are some great free, fast & better alternatives:

  • Mozilla Firefox — The award winning preview of Mozilla’s next generation browser. Firefox empowers you to browse faster, more safely and efficiently than with any other browser.

  • Opera — Get the hot features you need in one package: integrated search, built-in e-mail client, a presentation tool, and a superb pop-up killer

  • Mozilla Suite — Web-browser built for 2004, advanced e-mail and newsgroup client, IRC chat client, and HTML editing made simple - all your Internet needs in one application.

Please make the web a safer place for all involved. If you continue to use Microsoft Internet Explorer, then remember your ruining it for everyone else.

Warning: I am in the process of migrating to a new system. The blog should still function but there might be some funkyness in certain places.

This will be fixed soon.
